Q CELLS’ RIGOROUS QUALITY
MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Hanwha Q CELLS’ uncompromising quality and reliability is maintained and validated by a number of rigorous tests. We run our own VDE-certified testing laboratory at the largest technology and module test center in the industry. Our testing program consists of four testing levels:
LEVEL 1 INITIAL REGISTRATION TESTS
By participating in global certification testing (IEC, UL, MCS, JPEC, and KEMCO), we guarantee the electrical and constructional safety of our solar modules in accordance with international standards.
LEVEL 2Q CELLS YIELD SECURITY
Our internal Yield Security program for all products combines the guaranteed resistance to Light Induced Degradation (LID) and Potential Induced Degradation (PID) with protection against Hot-Spots (HSP) and product forgery (Tra.Q).
LEVEL 3VDE QUALITY TESTED PROGRAM
The VDE Quality Tested Program considerably supplements the initial registration tests. It is run repeatedly on a quarterly basis to ensure consistent quality and strong product security.
LEVEL 4INTERNAL QUALITY PROGRAM
Our own quality test, called Q.TESTED, is 2 to 3 times stricter than the global testing standard. We constantly check our products daily to make sure they meet or exceed our highest safety requirements and that they are all free of defects.

Our testing ensures outstanding durability and world-class performance even in the harshest conditions: strong wind, heavy snow loads, salt stress, aridity, high temperatures, or humidity. Accordingly, DNV GL’s 2017 PV Module Reliability Scorecard confirmed that Hanwha Q CELLS modules achieved the “Top Performer” standard; thus we not only offer best-in-class solar modules, but also warranties against annual degradation that are unparalleled in the market.

    Even on hot days, Q CELLS modules produce reliable yields and lose less efficiency than standard modules.
  • DESERT AND SAND
    Our modules withstand arid climate conditions and sand environments.
  • HIGH TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY
    Thanks to our advanced temperature coefficient and robust junction box and connectors, Q CELLS modules always operate safely and persistently.
  • STRONG WIND
    Q CELLS modules are tested for wind loads of up to 2,400 Pa.
  • HEAVY SNOW
    Q CELLS modules are tested for snow loads of up to 5,400 Pa.
  • SALT STRESS
    Q CELLS modules provide high safety due to ammonia-resistant junction boxes and robust connectors.
RESULTS FOR DYNAMIC TEST WIND REGION C
Our modules were tested with increasing pressure to a maximum of 7 kPa and subjected to a total of 10360 cycles to simulate a cyclone as best as possible. Accordingly, our modules survived pressure that is equivalent to a 1 in 500 year cyclone in wind region C.

    In 2018, Hanwha Q CELLS obtained the Top Brand PV Seal for modules from EuPD Research (Hoehner Research & Consulting Group) for the markets in Europe (Germany, France, Italy, and Great Britain) and Australia. 

    EuPD Research regularly evaluates the brand management of module and inverter manufacturers in Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, and other countries. They analyze how companies positively differentiate their products and services from other options in the market. EuPD Research consulted installers on brand awareness, brand evaluation, customers' selection, buying decisions, and sales.

  • THE INTERSOLAR AWARD GOES TO THE INNOVATIVE Q.PEAK RSF L-G4.2

    The Q.PEAK RSF L-G4.2 convinced the Intersolar Award jury with its reinforced steel frame concept, decentralized junction box, and easy mounting system. Q.ANTUM Technology and the reinforced steel frame design combine numerous advantages for higher yields and system performance as well as lower installation cost for lower LCOE. The jury picked the Q.PEAK RSF L-G4.2 solar module as the most innovative out of ten shortlisted entries and 51 total applications. The improvements in terms of performance, installation cost, and LCOE are such that this technology will likely set the next industry standard for utility-scale applications.

  • Q.PLUS L-G4.2 ACHIEVES THE TOP PERFORMER RANKING

    Hanwha Q CELLS modules achieved a Top Performer ranking in 4 of the 5 categories reported in the 2017 DNV GL PV Module Reliability Scorecard. DNV GL is the world's largest classification society and provides independent advisory, analysis, engineering, testing, certification, monitoring, control, and asset management services for several industries. The company works with investors, project developers, system owners, utilities, and equipment manufacturers to help manage risk throughout the entire project life cycle and to ensure the performance and safety of systems from residential rooftops to multi-megawatt power plants.

  • Q CELLS BAGS THE SOLAR POWER PORTAL AWARD

    Our Q.PEAK RSF L-G4.2 steel frame module won the Solar Power Portal Award for the best product innovation in 2017. Solar Power Portal is the online platform for the UK solar market. It is operated by Solar Media, which is internationally known for its pv-tech.org website and Photovoltaics International magazine.

  • Q.PEAK DUO-G5 WINS THE SOLAR + POWER AWARD

    Our new Q.PEAK DUO-G5 with Q.ANTUM DUO half cell technology won the Solar + Power Award 2017 for Excellence - Innovation. This award is presented by Solar + Power Management magazine each year and covers the entire value chain of photovoltaics. More than 4,800 experts from the solar industry selected their favorites in an online poll. Q CELLS already won the award in 2015 and has now scooped up another award with the Q.PEAK DUO-G5. The organizers put particular emphasis on the fact that Q.ANTUM Technology is continuing to improve conventional PERC processes and controls degradation effects, such as LID and LeTID, in order to achieve even greater efficiency and quality.

  • Q.PLUS-G4 IS RECOGNIZED WITH A SOLAR INDUSTRY AWARD

    The Solar Industry Awards were created in 2008 to recognize products or services that incorporate innovative manufacturing and technology. The polycrystalline solar module Q.PLUS-G4, with power classes up to 280 Wp, was ranked as the No.1 module manufacturing innovation by around 70,000 voters who participated in the two-month online voting process.

  • Q.PRO IS THE BEST POLYCRYSTALLINE SOLAR MODULE ACCORDING TO PHOTON

    The Q.PRO solar module outperformed its competition and came out as the No. 1 polycrystalline module in the 2014 PHOTON Module Yield Measurement Test. The Q.PRO-G2 235 Wp module won as the top-performing polycrystalline modules of 147 different PV modules from 107 manufacturers.
