Our strategy
If we are to drive photovoltaics forward and establish it as the main energy resource of the future, we must make sure that solar power is not just eco-friendly and dependable but also affordable and competitive. After all, the faster solar energy catches up, the better it will be for humankind, for the environment and for future generations. Q-Cells’ strategy is based on technological progress and reducing costs while maximising quality. As far as development is concerned, the focus is on those technologies harbouring the greatest potential growth in the years to come. Cutting costs always takes priority: through economies of scale, reducing material use, the honing of new technologies and tapping new markets in regions high in sunlight. In places like Italy, Spain and California, for instance, photovoltaics is likely become competitive in the peak load range next year.
