What career profiles are there at Q-Cells?

We offer jobs based on our divisions in Technology, Personnel, IT, Sales, Research and Development and Production. We generally have the biggest requirement IT Research and Development and Production. 

Industrial engineers, repair technicians and plant operators work in Production. Plant operators are often mechatronics engineers or chemicals technicians, as well as former office purchasing staff or sales clerks.

Physicists, chemists and mineralogists – vocations which have a scientific link with solar engineering – work in Technology, and Research and Development. Engineers from a range of different disciplines also work in this area as process technologists, researchers and technical development engineers.

Commercial vocational profiles at Q-Cells mainly include economists, and office and industrial sales clerks.

What qualifications do I need?

This depends on the requirements stated in the job advertisements of course. Generally, we expect a university degree for the technology and engineering positions. In production we offer qualified workers to start as newcomers.

Student at Q-Cells: Is that possible?

Yes, of course! Complement your university studies by gathering experience in the world of work with Q-Cells – as an student employee or on an intern. We will also provide you with support when you write your final dissertation and help you look for a suitable topic. We can offer you a twin-track degree in a neighbouring college. You will then be a student in solar engineering at Anhalt College at the Köthen site and at the same time you will be a trainee at Q-Cells. You can obtain more information about this here.

How can I apply?

Always in writing. Either by post or by email. If you are applying for a concrete job offer, applicants are selected quickly. Initiative applications are assessed and join a queue if no suitable job is available. Every three months, people in the queue receive news about the status of their application.

What is the selection procedure?

We have two different selection procedures. We hold selection days for jobs in Production, for apprentices, and for students studying solar engineering. We invite several applicants to this event, set up workflows in production and test the applicants under these conditions. There are generally two interviews for other jobs involving representatives from the relevant departments.

When do you send acceptance or rejection notices?

Each applicant receives a confirmation that the application has been received within three working days. After this we check the application and invite you to an interview or a selection day, if applicable. Each applicant receives a notice on the current status of his or her application after three months at the latest.

Can I have career training within the company?

We can set up the Q-Cells Academy. This personnel development programme is individually tailored to each employee. Our aim is to establish the best career training programme in the sector based on methodological, technical and personnel excellence. Personnel development for our employees is a top priority at Q-Cells.
